Nessebar NESSEBUR is one of the most ancient towns in Europe.

It is situated 22 miles north-east of Bourgas and 15 miles from the airport. The old quarter of the town, situated on the Nessebur Peninsula and linked to the mainland by a narrow neck of land, has been announced by UNESCO to be a monument of culture with world wide significance. You can see there a great preserved fortress wall, monuments from the time of Byzantium, churches and splendid architecture of the Bulgarian and national Revival.

The old buildings are restored and new ones are build in an authentic style. North and south of the peninsula stretch beach strips covered with the finest sand along the Black Sea coast. To the north these are linked with the beaches of Sunny Beach. .
